AM2 Arquitectos is an architecture, urban planning and design studio based in Vigo, Spain.
Based on the premise that form and function are inseparable elements, the studio works to achieve beauty in each of its works, from small to large scale.
Since its founding in 2017, the studio has received numerous awards and distinctions, such as the Loop Design Award 2021 in the Architecture | Concept & Unbuilt category, the Ministry of Ecological Transition award in the Spanish Sustainable Mobility Week 2020 and 2021, Red de Ciudades que Caminan Award 2022.
The 2023 receives the award for the best innovative design in Spain from Porcelanosa Group, as well as numerous mentions at national and international level.
The conception of the projects developed in the studio, arises from a deep knowledge of the context in which we work, and a clear understanding of the client’s needs, whether it is a public or private entity.
This is the basis of support to try to achieve through construction and design the longed-for intangible.
That intangible that turns the banal into an enriching part of our lives.
The use of natural light as a working material, the honest and conscious choice of materials, and structural innovation allow the search for excellence to be continuous with the ultimate goal that art, construction and design emerge as a response to the conditions set out at the beginning of each project.
And at the center of all this activity, sustainability as a fundamental pillar in the development of daily work.

Praxis
The studio AM2 Arquitectos, was founded by Alexandre Mouriño in 2017.
The studio is formed by a multidisciplinary group of architects and engineers who work under the same values.
Collaboration with different professional profiles prominent in their fields and teamwork are the essence of the study.
Philosophy
Architecture as the art of generating spaces for the life of people does not understand scales, being as important an intellectual response for the design of a door handle as for the design of a large-scale building.
Everything is architecture.

To achieve the goals that the current market challenges demand, collaboration between disciplines is essential.
Architects, engineers, landscape architects, interior designers, sociologists, biologists, and many other branches of knowledge are necessary to successfully complete each project according to its requirements.

Architecture
Architecture as an art that dominates space, time and light, requires a deep knowledge not only of its current praxis, but also and above all of its history.
Each project is the beginning of a new research and how, depending on the context, the formal, material and spatial response must be offered.
Fleeing from the superfluous and staying with the essential is the challenge we face on a daily basis.
Urbanism
Current urban planning must learn from the serious mistakes made in past decades, and propose different solutions that will allow the cities of the future to adapt easily to the new ways of living in this liquid society.
Each urban space designed in the study addresses from a multiple point of view the different issues to which the new cities and their open spaces must respond.
Mobility and sustainability
AM2 Arquitectos is one of the first Spanish firms specialized in sustainable urban mobility, providing assistance to numerous public entities in the field of soft mobility (pedestrian, cyclist, VMP) for the implementation of new infrastructures and spaces for these new ways of moving that are here to stay, and that will change the physiognomy of the cities in not many years.
Design
Architecture and design are inseparable elements, therefore in the studio we not only design spaces, but part of our work is to create new objects, of different scales and with different uses, but always maintaining the contained and silent spirit that characterizes our work.
The design of a chair or an urban luminaire is for us a fundamental challenge, since every formal element that surrounds us defines the comfort and daily functionality of our actions.
